ups has delivered :)

i just received my new cat back exhaust from downey , looks stout and hopefully in the next couple of days ill get a chance to get in put on ,also delivered was the idler arm brace , ill be waiting to put it on until i get a new idler arm , which while it was a the toyota dealer the other day they said needs replacing along with pretty much all the tie rods and such , so that will be another project .
in the mean time hopefully ill get a chance to install the cat back and those darn rancho torsion bars that have been sitting around for a while .

well i finally got the cat back exhaust installed. it sounds throttier like i had hoped , im not sure if its increased fuel milage or power yet , havent driven it much .
it wasnt as straight forward of an install as i had hoped, and the written directions sucked. but after a simple call to the people at downey it was all figured out.
first off the pipes they supplied were longer then they needed to be , due ot multiple systems using the same bends jsut longer or shorter , so i was instructed to cut the pipes to fit , no biggie , other then the fact i hadnt expected ot be doing any cutting , i wish they had said so on their website. but it was easy enough and you only need to cut the male fitted ends , so no need to get any pipes reflared.
my biggest complaint is that the way my exhaust fits , and this may be due to the length i cut things and the way i had the pipes turned due to the pre bent pipes , but my spare tire doesnt fit any more . good thing i dont use it , but i had to remove it
and it was my back up to my spare.
i do plan on putting air tanks where the spare tire used to be anyways , so not a huge deal.
but for anyone running a regualr sized spare under there and who wants to order this cat back system from downey , id call them first and make sure that the spare tire wont be affected , and then when you make your cuts and place the pipes make extra sure the spare fits with room to spare so it wont melt.

ok, as soon as i move into my new house with large garage/shop ill be onto repalcing the stock t bars with rancho ones , and replacing all the ball joints and such up front , and while im at it , im goingto redo the front brakes and install drilled and slotted rotors.

my days will be busy LOL

I want an exhaust but I have to buy GAS!!!

That's why their exhausts don't cost $500. Any pics?

My friend who works at a muffler shop said he could set me up with a Magnaflow mufflered cat back installed for under $300 which is only about $50 less than what he charges the less fortunate.

I wanted to get the Downey cat back but read some posts that their muffler sounded to ricey. How do you like the sound of yours?
