Could someone please provide a quick break down of different Tundra Coils?? 2WD, 4WD, TRD?

Are they all the same or is there a performance difference concerning ride quality and lift potential?

I've looked, haven't found it summed up anywhere.

TRD's are progressive - essentially the same height when used on a runner. these are the ones you want. 2WD, 4WD, Double Cab, Access Cab, etc, just get TRD and you'll be fine.

NON-TRD's are NOT progressive and are NOT the one's that you want. you DO NOT want these - the 2wd ones are short - shorter than 99 runner coils - and the 4wd ones are stiff.

 

From what I have found/heard... Non TRDs are shorter. TRD 2wd and 4wd are the same. TRD 4wd left is 48131-AF100 (yellow, yellow) and right is 48131-AF090 (blue, yellow)

They are GREAT!!! I've only had them on for a short time but they are GREAT! I got mine from www.trdparts4u.com Mention that you are on Yotatech.

I got 1.75" lift on my 2000 4Runner. This is without any spacers. I've heard that on a Tacoma you would get about 2" of lift.

Go for it. I did and I'm glad I did.

 

yup, I'm going for it: Tundra TRD Coils, OME N19s in front; new leafs with OME N85 in back. I'm calling trdparts4u 1st thing next week!

I get 20% at my dealer so I usually just buy from them.

here's a novel idea... get a price from your dealer over the phone, then go online and pull up the same parts and compare... don't forget to add shipping to the online price and tax to the local price.

 

Awesome thing about Oregon, no sales tax!

Hi everyone. Another question to add that I haven't seen a direct answer for while searching. Can I get the Tundra TRD coils for my 1997 4Runner 4WD if I have Bilsteins meant for a 4Runner? From an earlier post here it seems like the 4Runner coils are roughtly the same length as the TRD Tundra coils. The hard part for me is that I don't want any lift (1 inch as the most I guess) and I want to reuse my Bilsteins.

 

I have Bilsteins all the way around that are for a 4runner on mine. I also have new TRDs up front and OME 890s out back. I love the ride and see no problem with the Bilsteins and the coils. I got about 1.75" up front and 3" out back. The rear was sagging almost an inch. It now sits about .75" higher out back.
