No, you cut off the neg terminal from the negative wire and replaced it with a red terminal.......it is still the neg battery cable now with a confusing terminal color.

Ok, so the terminal you cut off was red, but WHAT is the polarity of the wire that you cut it off from? The terminal color really means nothing.
There are plenty of threads here from people hooking batteries up backwards and the fixes will show up when you do a search.
Blown fusible link or 80 amp fuse is where I'd look first.

Do the headlights or interior lights work? Can you tell if anything other then the seat belt indicator is getting juice?
You are certain the 80 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood is good?

OP,
Please verify what I noted on pic below. Once verified,
Battery should be turned around.
Terminals should be be switched.
Green quick-disconnect should go to black wires near fender. That's usually where negative terminal of battery should be. Quick disconnect belongs on negative of battery because it is the negative that should be disconnected first before working on electrical circuits.
Red terminal should be connected to wire that goes to starter and white fusible link wire.
White wire is most likely fusible link wire that should connect between batt + and fuse block.
Then, look at your schematic so you can do voltage checks, etc. Specify what truck you have. That way people can look up or share their schematics.
