Yeah, I heard you get 2 inches on a tacoma because they weigh a little lesss. And I bought all my stuff toyotapartsales.com. I just called them up and ordered everything.

I am hearing a lot of varying opinions on the stiffness of the Performance Products shocks. I was wondering if anyone actually had this combination - PP springs with Trekmaster shocks.

This setup sounds the best for my needs (I want a very mild lift that feels close to OEM in terms of ride comfort). But at this point I haven't found anyone that is running this exact setup.

 

If you are referring to the PP springs/Bilstein shock combo that PP sells, then yes, most agree that the Bilsteins are quite stiff. If I can't get what I want with a modified Tundra/OME lift, then I am going to try PP coils with the blue Tacoma Double Cab Tokico shocks up front (I have never heard anybody say ANYTHING bad about them) and OME shocks in the rear. I think this would make a nice setup and would probably ride much like the Tundra/OME lift.

 

I am getting the same idea - that the PP/Bilstein set is too stiff, and that's what I am trying to avoid. However, I am interested in the PP/Tokico Trekmaster combination - I've read a lot of good things about the Tokico shocks but the opinions are divided on the PP springs.

 

Bob_98SR5 let me drive his PP/Bilstein-equipped 4Runner on and offroad and it felt really nice to me. It was a little firm, but we both agreed that it worked better than my all-stock mushy suspension. I think a slightly softer shock would make the PP springs ride even nicer.

 

I know this is old, but...I just ordered the PP springs and I am going to put Tokico shocks/struts on. Anyone else tried it yet?
