Question TRD Boost Guage

Does anyone know the difference between the guage made for the 2001 Tacoma 3.4 (#00602-83100-003) and the guage for the 2002-2003 Tacoma 3.4 (#00602-83100-005). I thought 2001-2004 Tacoma's were the same. Any help is appreciated. :fireman:

Same face, same scales for vacuum / boost. To add to the confusion, some vendors list the '003' model as being for "2001 - current"... ??? I think it was 2002 when the driver's side grab handle was added to the A-pillar, and I've heard that change corresponded to a slight shift in A-pillar profile. However, the price difference ('003' = more expensive) seems to indicate there's truly something different about the 003 gauge itself.... I'm stumped...

I checked for clues over at CustomTacos... Found postings from 2002 about the 'new' white-faced TRD boost gauge, as well as postings griping (back then) about the TRD boost gauge having a black face and being incompatible with the newer white-faced gauges. I'm guessing the vendor pics are wrong, and the '003' is a black-faced gauge...

Can I make a suggestion?

If you're looking for a boost gauge and a pod, check out Gaugepods.com.

They're selling a vacuum/boost gauge for $20, including a light kit. Yes, it's a "made in China" gauge, but it's working just fine for me. You can get the gauge and a dual pod for much less than what Toyota wants for the TRD gauge and a single pod.
