I would be impressed if you have standard fittings on a Toyota.

My manual tranny only took a little less than 3 quarts. Manual says it holds 3.2. Tranny was hot and on level ground. Anyone else replace theirs lately and it take less than the book says it should? Must not have gotten it all out cause its right at the filler hole.
Oh, and my buddy's 15/16 worked just fine.

Using SAE on metric fitting is just begging for trouble.

Some SAE sockets work equally well on a metric. I think 13/16 is the same as 17mm. I found that out when installing Hella auxillary lights and the manual said use either one. It was true. I needed a 17mm deep socket and I only had a 13/16, so that's what I used. It fit exactly.
However, its a lot more practical to forget about using SAE on a Toyota. Buy some good metric tools. Consistently trying to find the right SAE on a metric vehicle is not practical in my opinion.
BTW, my tranny uses a 24mm drain and fill plug. Whatever size yours is, use a 6 point instead of a 12 to avoid rounding the head.
