Transmission fluid

When checking the transmission fluid do you have the vehicle running and in neutral, or in park. I can't find anything in the book that tells you how to properly check the fluid level. Any help please.

I work at Orlando international about 90% of the time. I have it on a flat surface I had just added a trans cooler and didn't see anything in the book about how to check the level. In my car I have to have it in neutral and running.

Hey you should stop by my work (Titan Motorsports) if you have time during the week. It's right by Goldenrod and 50. About 15-20 mins away from the airport.
