well, i talked to marlin at marlincrawler today and that guy is the nicest of the nicest! dave was super helpful and wonderful to deal with as well, so they have my respect for answering all my questions even when it was looking as if i wasn't going to be able to fix my tranny with marlin parts.
the short story is that it looks sounds like the input shaft bearing is toast and has screwed the rest of the tranny. marlin explained the cost of a rebuild and the process as well! he stayed on the phone with me ALOT longer than he needed to and i'm very very appreciative!
so far i've found about 5 used tranny's in north alabama. the cheapest was one that has 90k-100k miles on it for 300bucks with a 30day warranty.
so there's the plan.
work the overtime sunday to pick it up next week and hopefully i'll be able to get to the other crapola next week. lol
i think the only thing that's been REALLY frustrating about this whole ordeal is having to work the overtime.
