Which is which Tranny lines?

I've looked through all the threads on this forum and others and it seems that on 2001 to 2004 Tacomas, the tranny line FROM the transmission goes into the radiator on the passenger's side and comes out on the driver's side.

Is this what others have experienced?

Thanks
Bill

shortest line to the radiator cooler is flowing from trans into the cooler, longer line is the return. In the case of 4runners/tacomas that shorter line is on the passenger side.I believe toyota uses this desighn for all its coolers...get the fluid to the cooler in the shortest path possible.

Thanks a bunch. I saw a couple conflicting write ups on the "web" and wondered what the concensus was if any.

I tried feeling the lines and it is difficult for me to tell the difference and I did not want to undo the lines to spirt out atf if I did not have to.
Thanks
Bill
