tranny?

lately in the morning my runner 1987 has been hesitating as you shift gears ( 5 speed ) this goes on for about 15 min once its warmed up no problems ... i'm not sure what to look for when i take it in ... and since i don't no alot about the mechanics of engines i don't want to get taken ... mi milage is over 279 so i'm expecting a problem not sure what ... i've also been wondering about putting more of a street type tire on if that makes sense this is a daily driver 20 miles about each way ... my tire guy says the set that i have are fine but i have seen smoother styles on other rigs , i'm not gitting 4 wheeling as much as i thought so the tires i have don't seem to make sense .... kinda of like this post ... any thoughts would be greatly appreciated ...

If by hesitating, you mean it's hard to get the truck to go into gear, then I'd say all you need is a fluid change. When it warms up the fluid becomes less thick and so it's not as hard to shift gears. A change of fluid should/may fix this problem. As long as it's going into all gears fine when it's warm and not popping out of gear, your tranny should be alright I would think.
