Toytec/OME installation - weird UCA issue

I have an otherwise stock 2000 4Runner Ltd.

I installed the OME F & R springs along with the OME shocks. Time consuming figuring everything out, but not too bad.

The issue I saw was that the front passenger side spring, while jacked up (but assembled), actually touches the upper control arm at the inside. I think its the actual ball joint, but I don't necessarily know what every part is called, or if that's even the correct name for this part. I do know that its the inside part of the UCA. I attached a picture of a UCA, marking the spot that I'm talking about.

Now, this was only at completely full extension, and it was constant as I turned the steering wheel, to see if turning it would pull it out more in one direction than another.

I did also notice that the spring looks a little "bowed," but not toward the control arm. The bow shape is point toward the back of the car...maybe that has something to do with it?

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

This is a common issue with the front OME setup. Try searching for balljoint coil or balljoint hitting coil, etc. here's a few I quickly found...

I've heard too that this is a somewhat common issue with OME springs. What springs are you running in the front? 881's or 882's?

881's. Its never going to have an effect on my daily road driving, but it definitely will off-road if I ever have full extension/articulation in that front right corner.

I think ultimatley it's an issue with the OME shocks and not the springs - from my understanding the shocks are longer giving more droop and ultimately allowing the balljoint to come in contact with the spring - no matter what spring you have in there.
