Toyota warranty question
Hi, own a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and I was wondering if I can bring my vehicle to a different dealer beside the dealer where I bought it from to have it work on while it is under warranty?
Thanks

I wouldn't see why not. The warranty should cover your vehicle no matter where you are located. You should have a section in your owners manual spcifically about your warranty. Son't even try asking the Stealership about your warranty question. They'll tell you that you can only get warranty service done at the original dealership because they only want your $$$.
BTW, welcome to the board and hope you enjoy the stay!!!
edit: Peter, ya beat me too it again!!! Doh...

The best service I've gotten is from a dealership that's 10 miles or so from my home here in San Diego. The dealership that the truck came from is about 2 1/2 hours north of me in La Puente Hills/Diamond Bar.

Has anyone ever experience that when you bring your vehicle back for warranty service to a different dealership from the one where you original purchase your vehicle and that dealership seems to put in priority for those customers who originally purchase the vehicle from them?

I just changed dealerships yesterday! They seemed happy to have my business ... though I must admit they promised to call me this morning and now that it is 3:30ish I still haven't heard from them ... hehe. .. but anyway, any dealership is fine as long as you are happy with the service and the way they treat you. Dealerships have an incentive to treat you well - because if they don't, they know you can easily go elsewhere. Any Toyota dealership will service your Toyota under warranty or for any other problems you might be having.
The one good thing about finding one dealership you like and sticking with them is that you get into a relationship with the person who is working on your Runner and so when you take it in each time, they already know you and your Runner.
Good luck!
