took off running boards

aahhhhhhhhhh, now that feels much better!

decided to see for myself what my truck would look like without the chrome running boards. took the pass. side off to compare and i was blown away. i love it. then the driver's side went and my heart skipped a beat.

thanks to whoever suggested it when i posted my last showoff thread.

i also added a pic of the front with my blacked out bumper lenses. these are the amber ones with several coats of spray tint. i personally think it's too dark, and i had my clear lenses done with only one coat of the spray tint so it was more of a smoked look and it looks much better; but i tried to be fancy and put a coat of clear on them and the spray tint dissolved so i'm going to do them again from scratch when i get a chance.

tell me what ya think of the boardless PATYWGN! thanks people.

patrick

yup! been looking into what other goodies to get for my truck. i do one little thing and it's going to put me down the path of spending more money
i have been looking at some sliders, the only thing is, i live in iowa and the biggest rocks around here are on gravel roads! wouldn't mind taking it mudd'n sometime, but being the neat freak i am i might blow a gasket after just looking at what i'll have to do to get it clean again.

ok, time to look for more goodies online. thanks for the reply!

Are those the stock rims painted black and polished? They look awsome.

was not hard to take off at all. just need some sockets or a couple wrenches and it unbolts from the frame. yes there are the threaded holes left on the frame, but you could just put your bolts back in if you didn't like that. i'm leaving them out so i can sell the running boards and all hardware.

greg:
yeah, i stripped the old clear off and painted the inside of the wheels and then polished the spokes and lip. it's by no means a professional job but i think it looks better than stock. thanks for the kind words
