Is this too high?

I've owned a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen 4runner in the past and am now I am selling my 02 gmc 2500hd. Ive found a double cab I really like from the dealer, but not sure on fairness in price:

2001 double cab taco
37,600 miles
sr5
trd
black paint
brand new michellin lt's
truck really looks clean and the headers arn't even rusty looking
they want 18995 for it. I think due to age its a big much...What do you guys think? I was thinking 17 or 17500? My 6.0 2500 with a 300mile range on 26 gallons is tearing me a new one...

Engine, package, 5spd or auto?
If its a 5VZ (3.4L) with a 5spd and the E-locker in the rear with SR5 trim package then you could be pretty close on price, though id agree on going down to 17,5 or 17, afterall you are dealing with the stealership here cmon...

yeah, try to talk 'em down to around that 17k mark, but it sounds like a great truck...and that sucks having a gas HD as your mileage seems to imply...that's why diesels ROCK!!!

That price does sound a bit high tho. Always look around, and do price comparisons.

To my knowledge the Doublecabs were ALL autos from the factory in the US.
Maybe I 'm wrong but the only 5spds I have seen were retrofits.
In PA that price would be exactly what I would expect at a dealership.

If you have good credit and can get pre-approved for a loan you are in real good position to bargain. I got my 4-runner from a dealer with a blank check from capitol one (via lending tree online)and told them I'd buy it right now for 2k less than what they had it posted. Sales guys love it when you basically have cash in hand. At that point, you can check out what kind of financing you can get through the dealer and compare to what you have already. In my case, the loan I got online was better; drove away in a sexy fo-runna. So basically what I'm trying to say is you can surely talk them down in price.

look the truck you plan to buy on kbb.com look at "trade in value" now this is the important part DEALERS NEVER PAY MORE THEN "GOOD CONDITION" i know this as fact 8 years in the business what this means is this is close to what THEY paid for it so give them whatever profit you want and thats the right price if they wont come close walk away they WILL keep callin ya and lowering the price
