tires screeching

well i put a new rear diff case in since the old pinion ring broke, now when the car is turning the tires screeches and also the diff light and abs light are on. i want to get this fixed soon because the owner of the car wants to get it fixed and sell it. also the abs always kicks in now too, could it be a bad sensor?

Are you talking about the rear here? I know you said you meant the pinion inside, did you put the right size ring gear and pinion in? Did you look up the axle code to see what size ring gear it was? Or did you just swap a complete 3rd into it?

Sounds to me like the diff lock is on, if you did put the correct ring and pinion in. Did you mess with the wiring at all when you did the work? Is there any way to get the diff lock light off?

Need some more info I don't think anyone knows what exactly your talking about if you replaced the whole third, or just did the ring and pinion or what the stock gears were before or if you changed the gears or if you put the right size pinion ring in

well someone worked on it before me, has factory elocker. whoever worked on it said he put a 4.30 ratio on there, so i guess he found a 4.30 ratio but the diff lock light came on and abs light so i attempted to rebuild the old one but i failed at that because i bought the wrong pinion ring. sorry if i'm not making sense i'm pretty tired right now been working on other cars since 2pm

Still a bit confused, before the pinion ring broke, the 4.30's were in and it was driving fine?

Do you know your axle code?

Look on the drivers side door jam, right side. On the bottom right of this sticker, it says:

A/TM
A= axle code
T= transmission code

So did it have 4.30's in it and drive fine before?

The first letter of the axle code is either:
A = 7.5" ring
B = 8" ring

It would help to get some background to know exactly what's in this axle, so any info helps

Wow I have never seen that site lol and I have been looking at gears for ever. I thought that 4.30's were only on some AT models. Thanks for that link

If the tires are screeching then the locker is probably engaged
