Tire Finalization

Ok sorry to do this, but I have heard both yes and no to this question, and I wanted to know if anybody knew either way for sure whether 285/75/16's will fit on a TRD tacoma with 3" cornfed spacers up front, and 3" AAL's in the back? I have heard both ways, can somebody who has either tried this, or is currently running this clear it up for me. Pics would be great too if you have them.

Don't know about fitting, but this should help a little.

Rubbing will be an issue. However, the stock wheels will be an even bigger issue. I'm running 285/75/16 Revos on OEM 16x7s. I've put ~5,000 miles on the new Revos and have already noticed a slight increase in treadwear on the center of the tire. Ideally, a 285/75/16 should be mounted on a 16x8 wheel.

Judging by what I've seen on my uncle's Taco with 32s and 2.5" of lift, 285s will rub even with 3" of lift.

Here's another option:
Look for a set of 255/85/16. These are a 33"x10" (roughly) tire. You will be able to mount them on the stock rims and won't experience as much rubbing as the 285s. They will still rub, but not as badly. I just picked up a set of 255/85/16 Cooper Discoverer STTs. They're sitting in my garage just waiting to be installed. Because of the "weird" size, you will be limited to the brand of tire you can install. I think BF Goodrich makes that size in their KO and KM lines. Dunlop makes one and Cooper/Dean makes one.

Hope that helps a little.
