Lightbulb Tips & Tricks for increasing fuel efficiency...

Hey all, just wondering what's worked best at increasing MPG's in Runners. My friend recommended an MSD ignition, said it would give me +10% and some extra HP also. Just looking for some low cost to high cost mods. Throw em' out here. Thanks!

by the time the digital MSD pays for itself, i think you would be dead, but a few ideas i have is to give it a thorough tune up, new DENSO, or NGK plugs, new wires, new fuel filter, a Seafoam treatment, new PCV, make sure your tires are properly inflated, and also try all synthetic fluids in the engine, trans, and rear end, or sell it and get a Prius or Corolla you have to remember that 4Runners are heavy and not exactly aerodynamic

It's very efficient as it is. Your only real bet besides proper maintenance is to put on skinnier tires. All other stuff will yield variances in MPG so minor that they can be attributed to poor "before" vs. "after" testing methodology.

Yes, 4runners are heavy. Try filling your tires with helium (including spare) to help cut back on the weight issue. It should help considerably.
