Tax submittal .... ?

So I'm a single guy who basically needs to report w-2's. I used to use Telefile, and it took me about 5 minutes. I don't need the snazzy turbo-tax to do my taxes, and don't want to pay the fee....(but, I will if I have to...)

Are there any free, simple, online services which are easy just in reporting w2's?

I have been searching, but, am skeptical. Any help or direction would be appreciated, thanks.

ah we all make mistakes

Only one i see that is free on the IRS.gov site is
Freefile / Federal taxes only
http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html

I have not used this service myself tho and I'm sure theres a million services out there. To use the service u have to make 54,000 or less it says. I don't see any other links but if u parse through the IRS.gov site a bit theres a ton of info.

I used turbotax myself but i had both state/fed taxes to do Hope this helps

You guys pay taxes?

I use Jackson Hewitt for mine. I don't mind the fee, cause it comes with a guarantee that it's right. Not sure about online submittal...

I used these guys the last 2 years to file online: http://www.freetaxusa.com/
It worked great and I had my refund in my checking account right away. Took me about 10 minutes to file. I think federal was free and I had to pay $10 for them to file my state taxes.

I e-filed with taxact.com for the first time this year. IMO, as easy as turbotax is, taxact is even easier. The Federal part was free and the State part was $13 and some change. I had my fed return in 7 days of filing and had my state return in 21 days of filing (our state was lagging this year for some reason.)

Hope that helps.

Well, I just used HR block, and somehow paid them $34 online... Grr. oh well, they said "FREE FEDERAL FILING"... Course, the state filing is where they get you...

How are you making money? If you are talking about a refund that is actually your money to begin with. The guys paying in are better off through the year than those of us that get a refund.

x2

I've been using them for three years now. Very easy and their program even found some deductions that I was missing when I did my taxes manually. Like Rock Slide said...free Federal and $13.xx for the state.
Good luck.
