Taco seats
I'm not sure how others feel, but ever since I've had my Taco, I feel that the bucket seats suck big time. I can never really get comfortable in these seats no matter how I adjust it. Don't get me wrong, I love my rig, but these seats just suck!
I was also wondering if there are any other aftermarket seats out there worth looking at.
Thanks and I'd appreciate other views on this topic.

I actually think the seats are pretty good. I went on a roadtrip recently to Austin and spent the 10 hour drive in the seats of a Mercury Cougar and those are crazy uncomfortable. You can really feel and see the quality differences that go into a toyota. You pay for what you get in a car. I'm sorry I wasn't much help to your question I just thought I'd throw my .02 cents in.

I find that my back will bother me on the longer trips but I think it's something that could be solved with a lumbar support pillow.
My buddy's old explorer had comfortable seats, believe it or not - they kind of hugged your side so that was cool.

I would have to agree that my tacoma seats arent nearly as comfortable as the seats in my tercel. They just feel kinda of flat and not very supportive.
Supposedly it takes quite a bit of work to fit aftermarket seats in our rigs. There are some sweet TRD seats on ebay for sale all the time but I dont know how comfortable they would be.

My old and long gone '95 Taco had buckets seats with lumbar support. I hated them on long trips (12 hours).
There is some very nice and expensive after market seats like Tenzo.
I added some washers and longer grade 8 bolts to get the seat a little higher off of the pan.
I would consider lexus or camery seats if you are searching for creature comfort without the excess cost.
I am thankful there are plenty of junk yards in Portland, OR.

you think the bucks are bad? Try taking a few curves on the 60/40 bench!
I like amusement's washer idea. I think what I don't like about mine is the seat height. I've considered switching the seats out, but i have problems trying to figure out why a manual usaed seat should cost over $50.
As far as getting seat to fit, I'd do a search over at customtacos.com. They seam to try this stuff alot.

I sure miss those last gen 7-way adjustable seats Toyota had on their SR5 4x4 x-cabs. They were sweet and very comfortable. My current 02 Tacoma Prerunner seats are pitiful; no lateral/thigh support for the twisties and bumps, el cheapo fabric and no real cushioning. A real step backward from usual Toyota ergonomics. Hoping to get some Sparcos soon!

If you can find some seats in good condition from a late model p'up, you might wanna snag'em. Even if they aren't direct fit (and I have the sneaking suspicion that they are), they shouldn't be too hard to custom fit.
