well..not me, but my dad does. In his 97 Taco 2.7L 4x4. Went to gett he emissions check and were told we failed, and given a printout. Turns out BOTH o2 sensors are DEAD.
The mechanic told me ~$425-$450 to raplace both of them...w00t!

Here is a little tip I heard over on a BMW board, my BMW has four O2 sensors one before and one after each cat. Replacing all 4 costs about $400. They say you can just replace the ones before the cat and sometimes get by with that. The sensor before the cat is the one sending info to the ECU to control air/fuel ratio. The one after the cat just tells if the cat is working properly.

How many miles on the truck? O2 sensors are a high profit item for shops and are aften replaced needlessly for that reason. They should go about 100,000 miles without needing replacing.

I dont know about 4runners but i know on my BMW m3 the computer will store which o2 sensor is bad or going bad out of the 4. that way you dont have to pay 400 and get all 4 replaced. You may want to see if it can tell you which is bad..
