Whats up guys, okay i have searched and searched for the last few days and have found some really good information but not quite what i need to know. I have a 2000 4runner sport, 265/70-16 with completely stock suspension. Im gonna buy the Racerunner bolt-on coilovers for up front and im not what i should get for the rear yet. I want something that isnt going to lift the rear too much and look stink bug. What are your suggestions for the rear???

And one more question...i need new tires really bad but im gonna wait til i get the coilovers and lift for the rear on first. I am pretty sure im gonna go with the 265/75-16 to stay away from the rubbing issues of the 285's. Can you guys post up some pictures with a lift similar to what i want with the 265/75-16s?? Hmmm... I think you should do like a 1.5-2 inch rear coil spacer. That way you won't get TOO much lift off of it. As for the tires, I'm not too familiar with the metric tire sizes, but If I was in your situation, I would probably get some 33-10.50's to avoid some of the rubbing issues of a wider tire. 32-11.50's might be a good choice also. You MAY have to trim the fenders a little bit to fit these, though. It would probably be just a TINY bit, though.

 

x2 on Stormin94's suggestion. Coil spacers or maybe OME coil springs. It seems to me that coil spacers stiffen up the ride a bit though. Not bone jarringly stiffer but stiffer none the less.

A 265/75R16 is roughly 32x10.5. Here's a pic from Sonoransteel.com of a 3rd gen 4Runner with the OEM lift. 2" in the front, 3.5" in the rear on 265/75's.



I know it's more lift in the rear than you wanted but it gives perspective on the front.

What ever you do, stay away from rear spring spacers! I initially went with the Daystar 2.5" spacer lift. It was fine for about 6 months, then started sagging the rear springs badly. When I replaced them with LC coils, they were sagged to about stock height. The stock springs just aren't meant to handle the additional load or tension the spacers give. I have had better luck with the front spacers, but they're starting to sag now too.

OME makes some great rear coils that will give ~2-2.5" of lift. Search OME rear springs for exact model numbers. Also, check out Sonoran Steel's site for a ton of info on springs and lifts. BTW, here's a pic of the 2.5" Daystar lift with various tires for some perspective on height...

I went the same route you are thinking of. I really like my setup, it rides really nice and it still gets up and moves.

I went with ToyTec coilovers up front so if I want to go bigger in the future, I can just crank it up in the front. See sig for rear suspension. I got it all from toytec, great customer service. Oh and gotta give props to Ric for helping me out!

Not a great picture, but should help. I have 265/75 MTR Goodyears. I got about 2 inches in the back and went with 1.75 in the front. I'm sure the rear will settle a little.

I think im set on the coilovers up front and some OME springs for the rear. I think i remember reading about the different OME springs and the different stiffness of each. What would be the difference between the OME 890 and the 906??? And how difficult are the springs to install since ill be doing it myself???

About the tires, i think im set on 265/75s because i wont lose too much power or mpg. But i also dont want the 265s to look small with the amount of lift i will have. Thanks
