Talking Suspension

Hey,

Found the sight about a month ago. This sight is awesome. Best I have found on the net. Now down to my question. I am looking to lift my truck but I don't really want to do a 4" and I don't want to do anything over a 1" body. I already have considered the downey or ome springs. Are these my only options? Thanks a ton.

Glad you like this site. We do our best to make it a nice place to visit.

Regarding your question, what to you plan to do with your 2nd Gen Runner? Do you want to off-road it? Mount bigger tires?

Regarding the rear springs, OME, Downey and Performance Products (H&R) are the choices. These will all help you get rid of the dreaded saggy a$$ syndone that plagues 2nd Gens. You can crank the front torsion bars for a little lift, but until you get manual front hubs, I wouldn't advise much crank, or you'll have CV issues. If you are adding a winch, you can look at Sway A Way or Downey torsion bars for some better capacity up front.

You can get a 1" body lift from Roger Brown

Thanks Cebby,

My truck already has 32" BFG A/T under it. What I am looking for is something to give my 4runner more travel. I want to keep my truck a daily driver but not get a huge lift. I don't really have a problem with sag. Mine still sits pretty tall, which from what I hear is pretty rare. Does anyone make a 2" suspension lift? What does OME and Downey make that I could use? Where do I get manual hubs - OME?

Thank again.

I think the HD Downey coils will net you about 2" - not 100% on that though. My PP springs got me about 1 1/2". I don't know the OME brand well, there are others on here with them on 2nd Gens - most have the Downey's though. You can crank the T-Bars for the front, but not for 2". Maybe 1" or so. This will not give you more travel though.

Get used Aisin (Toyota) factory hubs. They are the best out there and you can usually find them resaonably. You can look on Ebay or try Yotayard. .

For travel, nothing beats a SAS with flexy leafsprings. J/K.

Try low profile bumpstops up front for more stuffage. Our rear coils are pretty flexy already. You might want to consider sway bar disconnects to get full flex.
