supercharger help

I need a little help with something, On the back of the supercharger (side that faces the firewall) there are two holes that i believe should be plugged, but are not, what do i do? my camera is broken, but here's a picture that shows where they are, mine is a little different than this, but you get the idea. i can see into the charger, and nothing in the instructions seems to show anything that might go there....

little help?

N/M. Can't see behind it.
In this pic from WWW.GADGETONLINE.COM <---good help site
Is it the gold colored part you are referring to? Or the smaller "holes"?

There is a freeze type plug that should be plugging the hole where the machined part is. That red dot on the right, are you saying you also have a real big hole there? That is not on any supercharger I have ever seen.

Is this supercharger on your truck? Why are those holes there? Did someone mess with it, screw it up and then unloaded it on EBay or something?

well, solved the problem, just needed some freeze plugs....

Gadget I have two freeze plugs on mine, the one on display at the dealer also has two freeze plugs. one in the intake chamber, the left one. and one in the chamber after the impalers. it's machined in both areas.

Like I said on the phone, I am glad you found some plugs! Where did you get them?

Now get out there and test that S/C out!

I just got back from tuning a truck that had a 2nd gen supercharger on it and it had the two freeze plugs in the back unlike the picture on my site.

Gadget, I got it from a friend locally that had it for 6 months and never put it on, but he got it from a dealer. so if you've never seen one until recently does that mean there's a new edition to the 2nd gen superchargers? And just a side question for you, how do you change the oil for the nose pulley? do you have to take it completely off?

If that supercharger has never been installed, then why do you want to change the oil in the nose drive?

Do it before you install it. Call Magnuson and ask them how much oil it takes. The gray ones take 150 ml. Once you find out go to your local GM dealer and get enough bottles of supercharger oil to meet that amount. Mine takes 150 ml which is just shy of 5 oz of oil.

Use a suction device and remove all the oil from the nose drive. Once you are sure you all the old oil out then put in the new and you are done.

The easiest way to do this is just remove the nose drive. Clean it up, reseal and install it, then put in the new oil.

There are some how to guides for installing a new nose drive on the TRD website. Check them out to see what you are getting into.
