Strugglin when starting up

Hey guys I have a 2000 runner with 93K miles, a couple of days ago the truck started to struggle when starting up like if the battery was dying. I cleaned the posts cause they had corrosion, but that did not help much. I don't think is the battery because the truck is still running, I have not check the charge thou. No issues after the truck fires up. Any body has had this issue? any suggestions? Thx

Could be one of several things:

Dying battery
failed alternator (dash charge indicator should be staying on)
bad battery cable to the starter

Concur.

Battery cold be barely alive, just enough to barely start truck. Once the truck starts up, you don't even need a battery, if alternator is good. Definitely have to have battery checked. It's such simple procedure. If your battery's around 3 years old, it could easily bad.

It could also be bad ground cables the cables get brittle after years of use.

First thing you need to check if the battery or alternator is on the way out.:jessica:

Cool to know, it's not that bad. You checked the electrolyte level as well, right? Battery may still be OK, but if electrolyte is low, it may not take a charge.

If it's around 3 years old, probably needs replacement anyway.
