I think the reason BBKs work better than stock systems is becuase of torque. The further away your caliper is from the axis of rotation, the less effort required to stop the rotationt he same amount, or stop it more with the same effort entered.

The equation is FD=FD, where F is Force entered, and D is the lenght of hte Lever arm. Lets say stock force is 30PSI, and that stays constant. So 30D=30D. With a stock system, the D is about 6" (Half of a 12" diameter rotor). So thats 30(6)=30D. With the BBK, the D is about 7" (Half of a 14" diameter rotor). So thats 30(6)=30(7), which dosent equate. So its 30(6)<30(7) or 180<210. Meaning the BBK is more efficient at using the force exerted by the brake pedal and Master Cylinder.

EDIT: Also, BBKs are designed for Heavy Duty use, with Brake Fade in mind. It uses various techniques to harness this. The Stock Brakes might have vented disks, but thats it.

Pimp wheels. I wonder where you got them from.
I was going to get those brakes but, the Evo has been getting more attention then the Runner.

The wheels are 18 X 8.5 6-lug. That is the only size they make for the 4Runner. You can get them in any Volk color you want but, it does cost more and take at least 90 days to get.

GSC Motorsports can get both the Stoptech brake kit and Volk wheels.

Call 866-548-4472 and talk to James or Greg.

Thanks,
John
