is it true thefts have scramblers that can mess with the frequeny waves ur car alarm works on because my wallet and subwoofers were stolen last night and i know i locked my car but there were no broken windows. These thefts were professional they also stole a 52" tv out of a house well a family were sleeping. Thank you for your time in advance.

 

bummer, i hate people who steal, its a lazy mans thing to do, work fo rwhat you want, not steal. and i hate people who hit things and drive away. my bumper got hit at school and i just had it fixed but it really pissed me off, and cost way less than subs and wallet

 

this would be why i want 5% in my rear windows

 

thats why i have 2.5% rear and side windows, anything that will help, just have to layer the tint

I'm not clear on what you mean by a "scrambler". Are you asking if it's possible that someone was able to fake your alarm system into thinking that you had pressed the "unlock" button?

Yes it is. But it's not probable.


What's the entry delay on your system? If it's more than 30 seconds I'd bet that you could EASILY get into your rig, grab a wallet and the subs and get out before the alarm went off. Try it.. roll a window down and set the alarm. Rech into the window, pop the lock, open the door, grab some stuff and close the door. Most systems will reset if the "intrusion" is removed before the entry delay expires.

yeah... umm... Lesse, we'll get a spectrum analyzer to figure out the freq being used, then we need to look at the modulation scheme of the signal itself. We'll probably have to ponder if the system is using rotating freqs. Or if it's a digital system, then rotating keys (or random keys!). Once we get to that point, we should be able to pop the locks and kill the alarm. Maybe.

Now of course this means that we've been staking out your rig for a day or two (since we needed YOUR freq patter/mod scheme), and have been close enough to intercept your key fob talking to the host. Call it 30 feet to avoid interference and allowing for the bushes next to your house not really being line-of-sight to the truck.

Given that these guys only took a wallet and the subs (so, loose stuff) then I'll bet that they were walking around with a flashlight and a piece of stiff plastic ribbon to pop the locks with.

 

This is why when I set my alarm at night, I set the sensitivity so that if you were to break a window it would scream at you...if you pop a lock it would go nuts and as soon as you open the door and trigger the interior light...it'll be screaming so loud you ears will pop.

 

Why not just leave your pet rattlesnake in there at night.
