Stock amp?

Hey, does my stock stereo have a separate amp? It's the in dash 6CD changer in my 2001 4runner. I wanna throw my kenwood excelon in there, I hate how the stock stereo cuts the bass when you turn it up. Drives me nuts...

make an offer on the stock radio... I'll let you know when I take it out. Money's tight right now, looks like I'll have to run all new wires too.

I'll grab a pic tomorrow if you want. I don't think the previous owner ever touched it.

Just buy a harness they're cheap and color coded so the install is real easy. You have to remove the stock amp to put in an aftermarket radio anyway, its a metal box lookin thing that the stock stereo is connected to, you have to remove it to get to the plugs that you will plug the harness into.

Cool, so I don't have to run new wires to the doors? Happiness.
