Scion T1807 SSP Function
I stand corrected. By holding the SSP button and changing the vehicle type your only changing the distribution of the sound to the size of the interior of the vehicle and NOT the EQ.
To change the EQ settings is another step. Press the SSP button, the display will will read "SSP Neutral" which is the EQ default setting. Now press the SSP button once more and the display will read "SSP Hear" and if you do it one more time the display will read "SSP Feel". The "SSP Hear" increases the bass and treble and the "SSP Feel" setting increases the bass and midrange.
The manual outlines the process.

IMO The "SSP Feel" setting is the best. i cant beleive what an improvement this is. Also thanks for the pics, instructions and support from everyone. it sure made the install very easy.

Hey hey hey.
There is a thread out there (somewhere) that describes how to wire an iPod jack straight into one of the AUX jacks on the back of the Scion head units... Damned if I could find it, though. It might be on the Rav4 forum or the Celica forum.
Homemade and cheap is always nice.

Anyone here tried the homemade aux input? I'm curious how well it works.

I installed the Scion ipod cable from Ebay. It plugged right into the back of the scion headunit with no problem.
For lack of a place, I routed it under the center console and up through the emergency brake.
Plugged it in, hit AUX and it works beautifully!
One caveat:
No Charging

In Aux mode
Are the HU sound levels close to that of the CD player and tuner or do you have to increase the ipod volume level to get the same levels as the tuner or CD?
I've heard it mentioned that when your compressing that much sound into such a small connection that, that is why the volume levels are so different between the ipod, tuner and CD player.

Sound is excellent though, it comes out at the same volume as the radio and CD player (no adjustments needed at the ipod/iphone). It's nice to plug it in and control everything from the radio as well.

Thats what i wanted to hear
That's what makes me hesitant about a homemade AUX input coming from the CD changer port. A lot of people say that about the volume out with that option.

Goodbye GROM adapter
Goodbye T1807. Found a T1808 on CL for $60. Installed it yesterday. Ordered that $20 eBay cable. Oh and i read that a little nail polish remover will remove "SCION" from the face plate w/o scuffing.

So my original intent, if you'll recall, was to have an aux input so that I can play my ipod and provide some more clarity to my Sirius reciever (which is currently using a FM direct adapter). The Scion radio and ipod adapter solved half the problem but I was still stuck with FM quality Sirius.
Solution? Sirius app for Iphone:
The sound is immaculate (way better than the FM direct adapter or modulator). My only grip is that the extensive amount of 3G streaming really drains the battery.
Problem Solved.
