Question Steering Wheel

I've been looking for an aftermarket steering wheel for my 93 4Runner (No Airbag-Cruise Controls). Has anyone come across an aftermarket wheel with cruise buttons. Momo used to make one, but its been discontinued. Everything I've found doesn't have the cruise buttons. I want a smaller diameter, thicker wheel than stock. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a wiring diagram, you can add a cruise control switch after installing an aftermarket steering wheel. I believe Pep Boys sells the switch. They also sell Grant steering wheels.

Just a word of warning from my own experience: A smaller steering wheel will make your truck turn faster, sometimes a little TOO fast.

Switch

I'll check it out - does it mount on the wheel or dash? I want to try to do somehting as stock looking as possible. Does anyone know if Toyota used to do their cruise via a dash mounted switch or add-on pod? Maybe I should look at old MR2 or Supra steering wheels... Does anyone know what year they started putting iarbags in those models?

Toyota didn't start equipping 4Runners with airbags until 1996.

Don't forget to add one of these TRD Horn Buttons to it:

If you wrap this thing in a high quality Euroskin/Wheelskin cover you would be hard pressed to tell that this isn't the real TRD Steering Wheel that cost $800.00 imported from Japan ... Man, a TRD Steering Wheel, this is a cool mod ... I should have kept this one a secret!

Below is the real deal ... $800.00 plus shipping. As you can see, if you wrap the ebay one up with nice leather you would really have to look twice to know it's not the real thing!!!

Cebby . . . you have a 93 like mine. How much did the alarm with rear window roll up/down do you for. I've been lookin for one. I'm sick and tired of using the key to open it. I know, this is off subject

Thanks...

Thanks for all the great info!! If I retrofit the Celica wheel, what would I need to make the airbag functional? Can I just pull a control module out of a late model (96+) 4Runner?

Mojojojo,
I think my whole alarm with installation was around $600 - $700. I got it about 2 1/2 years ago. If you have an alarm with an open EXT function, you can add the module to most alarms. Mine is a DEI model with remote start and three window modules. From my 4 button remote I have 6 functions (more can be added) mine is set up as: lock(1), unlock(2), AUX setup to roll the back window down (3), and PANIC (4). Then combinations of buttons get the other functions: lock and unlock together for remote start (5) and AUX and Panic together for venting/roll down-up of all 4 windows (6). The window modules can each roll up/down a max of two windows. This alarm has been a great convenience and I'm thoroughly happy with it!

My key has since quit working in the tailgate for window roll up and I have problems with all of my lock cores including the ignition. I'm replacing these soon!
