Steering on the 4th Gen

Hey everybody,
They other day when it was raining, i ran into a curb at about 35 mph (dont ask me how), but i know for sure that i dented my front right rim, but my problem now is that it seems that the steering is off, I had the wheels balanced today, but that made little to no difference. If it is rack and pinion, could the rack or the pinion have slipped a couple of teeth. Thx for your help (Sorry about the lack of technicality)

What do you mean the steering is off? You mean it does not turn when it use to or does your vehicle wander or pull to the right or left when you are driving?

If this is the case, you prob just need a front end alignment.

yeah, check your alignment. I guess you are using your spare now? You can probably find another OEM wheel on ebay for cheap.

It pulls to the right today, and i went in for my 7,500 mile checkup today and asked them to balance the tires, is that the same as checking the alignment, and if not, how can i do it myself?

Balancing and alignment are two very different things. So have them check your alignment, I bet it is off a bit with the impact of hitting the curb.

No... There is a difference.. You need to get a front end alignment.... You can not do it yourself... The dealer or tire shop needs hook it up to the machine...

Should not cost you more than $60 bucks.

That is of course assuming you didn't bend anything in the steering that needs to be replaced.
