starting problems

hey guys i own a 1997 tacoma 4x4 V6 3.4 Liter, and i have been having bad start ups. when i turn my key for the first time, it won't start. usually 2-3 turns will start the truck. But then today when i started the truck, the starter woudn't stop cranking over. The ignition was off an i had the key out. i popped the hood and the engine was trying to turn over, then the starter died. Is this a starter problem or a ignition problem?

Starter

That was happening to me awhile back, until one day it didn't start. Mine ended up being a bad starter, after replacing the starter I haven't had a problem since.
Just my thought.

well i searched all over the place. My uncle which is a ASE master tech told me that the starter Magnetic Switch may have got stuck and caused the starter to keep turning over and replacing the contacts wouldn't help. He suggest that i change the starter but i wanted to get others info.

My starter did that last weekend, and I just replaced it with a Remanufactured starter, it was $180, but well worth the piece of mind...
