hi guys any input on what might be causing my 99 4 runner not starting .the problem is turnning the key nothing happens ,but if i wiggle the automatic shifter she will start sometimes have to wiggle it alot or move the shifter from park to reverse any ideas would be welcomed thanks Doug

 

Check your schematic (link on my sig). Auto transmission should have a neutral safety switch somewhere. Just like the clutch safety switch on MT's, it prevents one from starting while tranny is in gear. Check its mounting and contacts.

Yup. I had the same happen on a Lincoln LS once--I had to always push forward on the shifter before it would start.

Just needed a little adjusting. Yours may need a new safety switch
