I've read about folks renting them from places like Autozone, you pay a deposit, use the tool, take it back and get your deposit back.

Or you could find a friend say... at a shop that has a wall mount that would put the spacer in for you for say... free
. Other than that you can do whats already been mentioned. They probably have them at rent-all places as well. Good luck! And be careful!! Holding a compressed spring like that is like holding a loaded gun. Probably not going to go off, but it happens.

hey all.
i just rented a coil compressor from auto zone. quick question. it is an internal compressor...and i am thinking it may not work. do i need to go back and see if they have an external one?

You want an external. I usually go to Napa, leave a $20 on the counter and get it when I come back.
I will guarantee that an internal is not what you want for putting spacers on top of rear coils in the rear of a 2nd Gen Runner.
I don't think a wall mount would be of much help either.
