Im lookin for a really good set of wires for a 93 22re i was lookin at the nology hotwires and are the nology sliverstone any good ?

 

Nology= waste of money just stick with the NGK's.

 

What is needed is a quality set of wires, i.e. something which isn't going to melt apart or fall off due to weak spring contacts.

NGK works well, and are fairly inexpensive. Magnecor is another good choice. Nology wires are of good quality, but rather expensive. Their marketing hype about building a capacitive discharge circuit out of a wire is just that, hype. Shielding a wire in such a way as they describe would actually deliver less spark, as the shield would bleed off voltage. RFI noise should be less with shielded wires. So, if you are getting noise in on your CB or AM radio, perhaps Nology could help, at the expense of a less intense spark.

 

best wires you can get are the stock toyota wires .

 

Magnecore's are prertty pricey too and they have quakity issues and are rather overkill on even a SC'd Runner;I had good luck with a much cheaper but quality set of Accels which proved worthy for several years at the strip under the hood of my modded Eclipse. I'd either go OEM,NGK or the Accels.

 

NGK blue wires. I have them one 2 trucks and never a problem with them.

 

well i found a set of the blue ngks for $27 and the IX iridium $27 for all 4 so 8mm is over kill ??

I just go with stock. I had upgraded a little while ago but the wires fell apart on me. I'm sticking with good 'ol reliable stock

 

NGKs are good wires, i had a set. i'm running taylor 8mm spiro-core wires right now and they work good as well, and only about $28 for a matched set from summit racing.

i wouldn't waste my money on iridium plugs on an older engine, i just use standard copper core plugs. i find them to be a nice window into how the engine's running, and don't mind replacing them every oil change or two when they cost under $2 each.

however, i've heard some good things about the basic denso/ngk dual electrode plugs(not iridium, these only cost like $2.50 from autozone). not because of the dual electrodes, but because of the way they're oriented. instead of covering up the center electrode, they're off to the side and the center is exposed, i'd think they'd last longer without fouling.

 

NGK for $40. That's all you need to know.

 

any one think that 22re are pretty fast lol

 

22RE would be real fast in a compact car.......not in truck/SUV

 

i found some Magnecor for 44 bucks the 8mm blue ones at www.ultrarev.com good deal ?

may be ill get some ngk v groove plugs at my local auto parts i have the bosch platnum 2s in it now

 

my 22R powered '84 pickup could burn the tires in the first 3 gears. my 20R/22R hybrid i built for my '79 truck is pretty snappy, it'll be much better though when i get rid of my terrible exhaust system and re-install my weber carb(the rebuild i had done on the 22R factory carb turned out to be pretty shoddy and it's already falling apart 6 months later)

I'm just running OEM ones cause the large diameter ones I bought melted in 2 days but then again thats what I get for shopping at schmucks

 

Hands down, run OEM, no wire for the money is worth it!

 

i have a 22r and its in an 85 4x2... my truck is pretty quick, i spin the tires all the time, and i have horrible gears... 3.07 gears with 31" mud terrains

 

I just got the Blue NGK's and I like them.
