Spare Tire

I took my spare tire cover off and like the way it looks,
My question is about painting the Spare rim Black to match my body color.
How would this look since my other wheels are aluminum.

It would look like you have a black wheel......most stock spares are black anyways. If it's in good condition, I say leave it alone. Ask Waskilly, it'll be black before you know it!

I say pickup a 5th matching aluminum rim and have a fully functional matching spare. That's what I did with the steelies and will do with my new Toyota!

Spare?? Spare?? What's that? OH, you must mean that full size extra tire that is underneath the house in storage! Fullsize spare doesn't fit under my truck so I'm driving around with a compressor and a repair kit. Hopefully I won't have a blowout on the highway. Then I'll be screwed!

Having an aluminum spare to match would be nice but I'm not going to blow the money just for the extra bling bling to hang off the back of my runner.

Too many other things to spend my money on.

Not to hijack... but did any toyota's come with a chrome spare? My spare was dirty as heck, but just a simple wipe and I could see a nice mirror finish underneath.

Part of the reason people buy full-size copy-exact spares is so they can work a 5th tire into the rotation equation, extending the tire-change interval. And, in the rare event of a blow out, you don't look like a dork with one black wheel (for those of you running non-black wheels to begin with) and 3 aluminum or chrome wheels.

Looks are everything you know.
