So I did the zman intake mod and ...

...nada, not a thing, bugger all really.

Now I know I have an SC so detecting a change in power would be tough without a dyno but I can not hear any difference in intake roar either.

I have the air box mod so perhaps that and the SC just overwhelm it.

If after the ECU adjusts, it does not change, I will have a perfect tube available for non SC folks.

David,

Sorry to hear you didn't see any improvement, but with a SC (I'm envious for sure...), I'm not surprised. Maybe you don't have enough fuel available?

Anyway, I have a 1997 3.4L and would be interested in biuyin the tube you had crafted if you decide to go back to stock. No pressure, just letting you know. I need to reread and be sure it will fit on mine.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi David,

If you didn't do any Fuel Mods along with adding the SuperCharger, it's possible that this mod won't help you at all. Did you do the Free FMU at least? Also, since your SC is in the intake path, the change in intake noise isn't going to be as great as the NA trucks.

If your truck was Turbocharged instead of Supercharged, you'd probably see 0.5~1.0 lbs more boost with a mod like this in place. But since the Supercharger is mechanically driven by a belt, this mod probably won't affect it quite like that. It certainly doesn't hurt anything.

If it were my truck, I'd leave the mod in place for two reasons:
1. It cleans up the engine bay.
2. I know that the intake path is smoother with it in place.

Thanks for your post!

Jury is still out.

It leaves much better access to the plugs (coil side)

I will powder coat it and give it a month or two..

...I was lucky as no vacuum lines involved.

And as for the FPR, I am gonna have to change my sig to read

"1999 SC SR5 (with free FMU)...

I told you before
