snow fun

Well on the way to my shift at the firehouse, I ran into a new 4wd xterra off the road and was stuck. So first try I tried to drive myself, I threw it down into low and his pizza cutters just spun with no luck. Then I pulled out the recovery strap and hooked it to my hitch (I backed in behind him) and pulled him out enough to get him out of his skid holes. I threw my old girl into low and just slowly crawled. I guess having wide wheels and a lil air down goes a long way. They guy kinda gave me that why didnt I buy a toy look when I waved to him driving off. Well I got my pride going now lol. Just a funny lil snow comic :pig:

Funny story. I'm still waiting for a few inches of snow down here in N.C. to play around in. No luck so far.

That is a great job. Nice work. You should be very proud of that.

On a side note...what do you do at the firehouse? I am assuming you are a paid firefighter, but what truck (type, etc.) do you run on and where at? Just wondering...I would love to be a paid firefighter. Thanks! :fireman:

Im not paid but during bad weather, we run shifts where 6 crew are in quarters. 1 for the tanker 2 on the brush unit and 3 on the engine. We have a rapid attack mini pumper with 300 gallons of water and 4x4 thats first out during bad weather then the tanker goes and the engine 3rd. I was the officer in charge on the pumper lastnight. We ran like 3 accidents. Nothing major. Im currnetly studing fire science and have applications out with richmond and petersburg fire. I should hear from them this spring.

It's always good to pull someone out but even better when it's another 4X4

Great story! All the more reason why I want a 4x4. I could spend all day pulling people out of the ditch with one.

I wonder what--you know who--would think about all this....lol. (sorry, I couldn't resist)

Have fun.
