Simple Push Bars

Anyone ever heard of police style push bars (with rubber on the front) for a 3rd gen Runner? I don't want to go the bull bar/grill guard route, just want simple push bars, black. Perhaps only a custom job eh? Thanks for ANY leads on this...

I dont have any pictures but I used to have a full grill guard but I removed the wings so only the middle was left. Then I also had a waag guard which I don't think they make anymore but you might be able to find one around.

I Like It!

Fuzion I like the black bull bar in your photo very much. Grimpy also sent a pic to my other post over on 4runner.org and I like his too, very clean. If either of you can remember the part numbers or anything that would help me search for these bars so I can do a little comparison and decide which to pursue, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks for your responses!

Thanks Again

Hope you know - all of these have absolutely no practical use and actually worsen result of a front-end collision.

He likes what he likes, leave him alone about it. I love my brushguard but people joke about it. There are so many different circumstances that go along with a wreck that there is no way to tell if it would actually hurt or help you.

how many mods do people do on their vehicles that are for looks only? i never knew that stickers had a practical use, but they seem pretty popular.

Funny you should ask I am working on customizing one from a 02 police impala to fit on my 2 gen 4runner the side mounts are about 1/4 inch thick the top round bar is very heavy duty as well . So far i have figured out that i will need to build custom mounting brackets to mount it but it does seem to fit the same of the bumper pretty good so hopfuliy not much recuting will need to be done there. Thats all i have done with it since i picked it up from work friday but if you got a way to get one and are willing to do a little work on it i think you will find it very cool and easy to add on to i.e. winch will fit no problem and welding on extra bars to get more strength plus have the ability to push someone if needed anyway thats my experacne with one so far as a offroad add on. I can tell you they work very good on our police cruizers for pushing broke down cars and trucks in a emergency.

I know what you mean NPE701. This is for pushing other vehicles off the road, a mount for extra lights, does look good (to me), and as far as doing more harm...than what? If you hit something you're screwed anyway, not like having this means I'm less safe, unless it disables the airbags...hadn't thought about that yet. By the way, you have one right?

Push Bars

olharleyman, please update us on how you do with the pushbar mod/install. This sounds interesting and I hope you post pics when/if you get any. Thanks!

I plan to remove the rubber bumpers off the front of my TJM and then I'll weld plates on to mount cut pieces of old MTR tread.
