Push bars arent for what ya think. crown vic interceptors are bolted to the frame and designed so they wont damage the PD car.
The ones for our trucks are simple decorative access..
As for pushing with your bumper, go to a boating store and look for those things they put on the sides of docks so you dont damage your boat, there pretty thick and i know kennesaw mtn access puts them on thier bumpers for this purpose (if you pay $$$)

If you are interested I have one off one of our patrol cars that would work for you but you would have to make brackets for it. It came off one of our IMPALA cruiser's and is made for police use only by SENTENA. Willing to deal for a reasonable price since I will not be using it anymore I built a bumper for mine and have no use for it.

I understand whats so bad about the push bars, yeah they would probably cause more harm than good but they do give you a place to mount lights. I'd like to get an ARB or TJM but the bank account doesn't allow for it right now.
Heres my westin, I color matched the front chrome fascia to correlate with my bumpers and wheels.

Hey everyone...new user here. I've got a manik guard on my '97 4runner ltd. the supports are rubber-coated, and i've used it to push vehicles a few times with no adverse effects. (the small dent you see is from a parking bollard...came in a little too hot.)
