Are they loud enough for you?

I hardly ever am in a situation where I need to honk, but when I do, I like the loud sound that comes from underneath my hood.

They are plenty loud, probably 3 times the stock horn sound.

I added airhorns on mine. It gives a loud, nice, exotic sound.

Wav/sound files and a write-up on my site

i've had my eye on a pair of magnum blasters the past few days. i think they're very similar to the freeway blasters. here's a link with a hi-res soundclip.

So one of each is the preferred setup? Two lows not loud enuf? Two highs sound like a loud road runner?

4R4C:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the High and Lows "balance" each other out in terms of the sound.

Thanks for the input! The FIAMM horn mod is now done (got mine at O'Rielly Auto Parts)! What a difference. These are the horns that should have come stock. I didnt have trouble with the coolant line on the passenger side horn, although the horn is right up against the line. I put two layers of electrical tape around the line to eliminate the risk of a rattle. It would have been nice if there was a little more slack in the wire but it just barely reached.

Anybody looking for a set of OEM horns?

What kind of older cars have some really powerful horns? Cadillacs? Lincolns? I want something DEEP. Junkyard would be a great place to shop.

Hey...how about playing a .wav file somehow over a PA system like you have on a CB radio. You could cannibalize a toy that records your voice and plays it back (I have 2 of those already) Maybe even add an amplifier to make it louder? That would be fun!

Damn i didnt know i needed a low and high. But i bought 2 highs. Damn these are easy installation just connect the stock connector to the fiamm and ground wire to it and be done. All you need is a ratchet. No crimps or anything.

Hehe... me too! I've got one of those too!
Eeer.. had one.
It worked well for a few weeks. But then moisture and etc... seemed to have gotten into the horn and now it just sounds like a dying cow. Man... and to think i spent like $30 on that!
But it was great while it lasted!

I've got the Fiamm highway blaster horns on my truck as well! Big improvement over stock! One thing to keep in mind. Even with the door open and you standing outside to honk your horn. It doesn't really sound that loud because the horns are facing the front and pointed downward. If you really want to get a feel for how loud they really are, pull up outside your garage door and then close the garage door. Then stand outside and take a whack at your horns! Then you'll see how loud they are. The first time made me jump up even though i knew i was pressing the horns.
