Oh, and don't slip and let the + and - wires touch the body. ZAP!
I had to get a new fuse because of that. The guy at the gas station gave me a new one for free though

Disconnect the battery whenever you work on your electircal system. It could save you big bucks down the line.

I replaced my wimpy sounding horns today with the same Fiamm Freeway Blasters. Only 30 minutes to do the whole thing and what a difference it makes. No more sounding like a motorcycle. Nice thing was I didn't even have to cut any wires. The plug on the factory wires plugged in perfectly. They are actually a female spade connector in a fancy little plug.

Anyway, thanks for the writeup.

I've had to replace a few because they crapped out after filling up with water or mud. Mine is messed up again right now but I haven't replaced them yet. I was able to clean them out one time when they filed with mud but everytime after that I've had to replace them because they don't work after a swim.

And what the crap is Hyuk?

Do you have em mounted with the openings facing down?

If you're having problems with stuff getting in the trumpet of the horns, Cover them with something. Two things I've used on other things I wanted to keep dirt out of was a piece of screen door material and even better was piece of old pantyhose. It was easy to work with and conformed to odd shapes well. It wonn't stop a water drenching, but it helps and it keeps mud, dirt, bugs and small children out.

The first time I had them aimed at each other other because I thought they would sound better that way. When they were aimed that way I was able to clean them out after dunking them but since I've had them pointed down they die when ever they fill up.
I've decided then next time I pull them off to clean or replace I'm going to put them under the hood, I'll loose some of the volume with them in there but I think they'll last a little longer that way.

I've considered putting plastic bags over them when I go out but the pantyhose idea sounds like a good one for the mud.

Anybody notice how air horns get much quieter on warm humid days?

There's this empty stretch of road with woods on either side that I pass every day and honk slightly there to give the compressors a workout. On cold dry days there's an echo for a few seconds, on humid no echo at all

This paper presents, expands, and clarifies the en-
vironmental effects of temperature and humidity on the
speed of sound. These effects increase the speed of
sound and complicate the task of room equalization im-
mensely? much more so than previously thought.
The dramatic effect of relative humidity on sound
absorption appears as a separate section and helps ex-
plain many mysteries involving startling changes in
room response from day to day. Even a modest change
in relative humidity of only 10% can cause an additional 35 dB per 1000 ft (300 m) of absorption.
Well that explains it.

These are what I used in the original write-up.
Fiaam Low and the Fiaam High Note you listed above. One of each.

They are cheap, work great and are a no brainer to install.
