Should I clean my Amsoil at 8000miles?

Amsoil recommends cleaning the air filter once per year but I only have 8000 miles this year and no towing or really dusty roads. Any reason to mess with it?

Thanks all.

Messing with it is half the fun!

At least take it out and turn it 180* top to bottom. Over time the oil will be drawn down toward the bottom so rotating it from time to time keeps the oil in the filter and not in the bottom of your airbox.

Whenever I open the hood I will make a point of checking the air box to see if a lot of oil is on the bottom. If yes, break out some paper towles. Twice a year is a good rule of thumb.

Yeah, I clean my Amsoil when it looks dirty. Sometimes, 6K, sometimes more. Just depends.

As for the K&N, I would do the same thing.

New Amsoil filters are pre-oiled and you'll see it all over the packaging.

Hope this helps.

I clean my K&N every other oil change regardless of the type of driving I've been doing.
