Should I buy this exhaust?

I recently found an ad for a Toyota truck exhaust system on Craigslist and called the guy about it. It is a Flowmaster (40 series I think) with Downey headers welded to a new Magnaflow free flow cat. The entire thing has 2.25" pipes and is off of an '89 4x4 pickup with a 22re. He wants $150. I am wondering if it will fit an '87 4x4 pickup with a 22r. I was originally thinking about just using it for cat back. How would this work since it has 2.25" pipes when the cat is 2"? Can I get an adapter or will a muffler shop have to fabricate it?

I don't know if it'll fit or not, but I don't see why you can't cut it up, use what you can and then sell the rest.

If I remember correctly there is little to no difference at that part of the 22RE from the 22R Carb.

Pretty sure it will work...just double check the setup for the AIR injection system...that's the little pipes that dump fresh air into the exhaust manifold. You have to keep it for emissions ˟˟˟˟ on the 22re to pass inspection (in most states). My Pacesetter header comes with hookups for the air system...easy conversion.

Thanks for the input. Does anyone know about attaching the 2.25" catback part into a 2" cat?

Yep....it's a 2.25" to 2" reducer. Costs about 5 bucks or less.
