Shocks w/ OME 906?
I had a CD mature at the bank for $5K yesterday that I had bought when I had graduated highschool and completely forgot about...
Needless to say the Runner is gona be getting a decent chunk of that
I'm getting some coilovers up front. Looking like some King's as of right now, and I'm planning on going with some OME 906 in the rear. I did some researching and it looks like about everyone really likes the OME shocks along with the coils. My concern is having the rear ride completely different than the front...what shocks will best compliment the ride the front is gona give me?
EDIT: 97 SR5 runner

Wow, now that's alot better than finding a $20 you forgot while doing laundry!
Sounds like you're going all out up front. I'm a bit partial to the OME's obviously, but the OME comforts or Tokico Trekmasters should give you a good ride with your coilovers up front.

NO kidding! I went to balance my checkbook yesterday and had to call the bank to make sure they hadn't made an error with my account. Thats when they told me they had just direct depo the proceeds of the CD into my account...yah for me
I have a Warn brush guard/winch plate combo sitting in the shop that came off my Taco that should bolt right on up to my new rig. I've been waiting to install it on the 4runner until I could get something with heavier duty coils to support the extra weight. That thing wasted my Taco suspension in no time...
I'm planning on ordering the rear suspension goodies within the next couple days so please anyone with any suggestions chime in

You may want to rethink the front coilovers. I'm not sure that they are as good as you hear. There are alot of great setups out there. Read this https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f31/suspension-lift-faq-44741/ and this https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f120/96-02-4runner-suspension-faq-73612/ hopefuly they will help. I have also hear that the OME 906s are about the same as teh stock coils. Check out my 4Runner. I have a mild lift with Tundra TRDs up front and OME 890s out back. Great ride, about 2" of lift (Guessing, hard to tell, the old springs were realy sagging)

Gerdo Thanks for the links! The price of the lift equipment isn't that big of a deal to me. I just want to make sure I get what I want/need the first time around...
I chose the Kings up front becuase I wanted something adjustable with 650# springs to handle the weight of a front bumper/winch etc. That left Hoes, SAW's, or Kings (correct me if there's others). I'm getting a good deal on some slightly used King's so that won the front bid... I thought about doing the tundra lift, but I really want the adjustability for extra gear or bigger tires someday.
I'm only going to go with some 265/75/16 or 265/70/16 (depending on brand choice, I think those are real close in size) so not much more than stock. I was really wanting to get rid of the ass sag and improve my ride so the 906's sounded like the way to go.
Will the OME shocks handle long (10 mile +/-) 35mph+ fire road travel without excesive fading? Or should I look into some high presure's like Bilstein?

If you are buying the coilovers so you don't have to do anything later for bigger tires, then you might want to also go with 890s instead of the 906s (if you're going to 265/75's or definately for 285's....use the 906's for 265/70's).

I would agree with MTL. I think the 906s will be too short now and in the future. Don't wory, the 890s arn't too tall. OME specs the 890s as giving around 2" - 2.5" of lift. That is what I'm running with my stock size tire, 265/70R16. I don't think it looks strange. I like the look.

OK 890's... I'm so used to having a 15" wheel that I can't ever remember what the metric sizes are. I'm planning on putting the equivalent of a 32" tire on there (265/75's ?). 809's and the softer ride shocks?
Thanks guys

Oh, the 265/70R16 = 31/10.5 and 265/75R16 = 32/10.5 . This is a chart that I use for size comparison. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...1=yes&place=38

Thanks for all the help guys!
I ordered some 890's with the softer ride shocks. I also went with some Hoe's up front instead of the Kings
Also have some Eagle 058's on the way, and will go order some 265/75's Wednesday when I finally get a day off. Chances are BFG AT's unless my tire guy has something that I like the looks of better...
Will get some before and after pics up here within the next few weeks after it all shows up in the mail and I get a chance to put it all on...

Ya I looked at his stuff. I rode in a Taco with Hoes and fell in love with the ride, and the 890's seem to be a well liked rear option so I'm pleased with my money spending
Is there anything else I need to be getting?
