I dont honestly know. I imagine at worst you'd have to take one end of the shock off and slip the boot on. Incidently, you dont have to lift the truck and remove tires to remove shocks...

My question is in regard to sway bars....do you have to lift the truck to disconnect them?

If you take the top stem bolt off you might as well undo the bottom loop too and take the whole shock out. I think that is what AllOther... was saying, that you have to take the shock completely off. Is your's a stem type on the top? Mine is and there is no way I could undo the top and slide the boot on from up there. I would have to be able to compress the shock enough to rotate it down on the lower shock mount and it won't compress that far. if you went to a bike shop you can get a pair of lizard skins for bike shocks and just wrap them around the upper part of the shock. I'm kidding.

You should be able to just take off the top nut on your shock and slip the boot on and bolt it back up without taking your wheels off or anything. You might have to take the lower bolt off if you cant compress it enough to get it out. Still no biggy though.
