I usually use 76 or Chevron - they're closest to me and have pretty decent prices for Burbank, CA. I find I have to use the 89 octane mid-grade or I get pinging in the 3slow.

It's $2.23 here in Boulder, the Shell station is 1/2 block from my house so I always tend to fill up there. I don't notice much of a difference between that and the mid grade. I'm getting right around 16 mpg in mine and I hate it.

I've found that I have to use 89. If I do a tank of 93 and then 87, the 87 tank will ping. It's not that the higher octane gas can offset a lower octane tank. The octane rating is needed for each combustion cycle.
