Anyone know where the service notes or any recall information is on the Tacoma"s.. I noticed a small rattle in my front dashboard too! After quietly reviewing a few threads this looks to be acceptable to a few owners. I disagree.
After paying 20 plus thoousand for a new pickup it shouldn't start rattling after two years..And I baby it!!! No offroading yet!

I know what you mean about the rattle but for the dealer to fix it they told me the entire dash has to be taken apart. I think you will end up with more rattles and squeeks after that is done. They might fix one and you end up with 10 more. Just my 2 cents. The problem is, is that it should not be there in the first place.

To fix mine I took a piece of pipe insulation and cut it down to about 1/2" wide and as long as the dash. Then stuffed it between the dash and the wind shield. The insulation is a dark grey color and you can not even tell that it is there. The rattle is gone and did not have to take the dash apart.

My 03 started squeaking a month after i got it.

 

My 98 Taco had a squeak/rattle in the dash. All it took was a firm push on the far left side, snapped it right back into place. No more rattle.

 

I don't want to hear that...

 

My 2003 started squeaking a couple weeks after I had it, and I've only had it about a month!! Doesn't squeak all the time, but it's annoying when it does! Just crank up the tunes when it starts :-)

I have a slight rattle in the back of the pasenger compartment. I havenot checked it out yet. I think that I am going to find that it is something stored behind my back seat. I do have the rattle in the dash like some of you mentioned. I don't really want someone taking my whole dash appart.

I have noticed some squeaking from my rear driver side leafs. I can live with it though.

 

I too have had some rattles in the dash that have not tracked down. Also, I sometimes hear a loud pop, but that turned out to be my keychain remote hitting the dash.:pig:
