Service Engine Light???

Just replaced the plugs in my 1996 Runner 3.5 and when I restarted the service engine light came on.. I have checked all vacum lines to make sure I didn't pull any off in the process...Any suggestions...

Service engine?
Check engine light you mean?

Like this?

Either go to a shop that will read you the code OR get yourself an OBDII diagnostic tool and find out what your CEL code is. You'll be able to troubleshoot your issues better.
I'd suggest that once you know what it is to try searching. Check engine lights run rampant and have been covered a multitude of times.

Is disoncecting the battery the best way to reset this thing... Just want to check and see if it was a fluke from the tune up...

If it is the check engine light disconnecting the battery for a while should clear it.
Bassin - his profile says 96 4runner dunno if it's a 6 or 4 banger though.

Unplugging the battery *should* clear the CEL but depending on what it is it can come back right away. You should check out your local auto supply store and see if they'll pull the code for you. That will get you a much better idea of what's going wrong under the hood.
