scratched rear window
My 1gen 4runner's rear window is scratched on the outside. After a recent off road trip (Greenwater) I figured out that it was from the previous owner lowering the window with dirt or sand on it. In dirty conditions how can I open the rear end without worsening the scratches on the glass? Thanks, Mark

Mark, as you may know, I like Griot's products as I use a lot of their stuff on my rig.
They have two kinds of glass polish.
Fine and regular. I am not sure though if the regular is course enough or not to take out your scratches, but you might want to check with them.

I would try and clean the contact point. Where the glass meets the seal, clean that really good and it should seal afterwards, keeping dirt and water out. If you can, get to the inside gears and clean that really well also. It wouldn't hurt to do the inside, although it is probably a pain to get to. Goodluck! :fireman:
