Don't you have the problem with the window not going down? It has to go down before the tailgate opens!

Exactly...the previous owner said sumthing of how he was trying to get it fixed and no one could fix it. I think the window track is rusted out and the inside of the tailgate is too rusty to fix it. Where can i find a tailgate with an operational window track? I am very confused. I wish one of you Yota gurus lived next door. I plan putting on a new body, so the tail gate will need to be done soon. Another thing is my price range is $0-$75.

I think you might just have to dig and and see whats wrong with the track/motor/whatever by yourself. Previous owner wasn't too specific. Might try a local junkyard, unsure on prices.

LOCAL JUNKYARD . They dont have crap for toyota parts i call there everyday and its the same thing "call again in a couple of days'' or else sum1 beat me to it. Is this easily fixable though? I mean once i get the parts and all. What would i have to do to get the old one off and the new one on?

check this page out for rear window electrical issues:

maybe this will help you figure out how to get the window down, my 85 was missing the special bolt that tells the system the top is back on.
